About the Role

The Senior Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for all daily and monthly accounting and reporting tasks for the Memphis IQF Plant. This role collaborates closely with Plant Operations and Corporate Finance to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial, production, and inventory information. As part of a shared services Finance group across multiple facilities, the Senior Manufacturing Accountant plays a key role in the month-end close, interpretation and presentation of results, and development of budgets and forecasts for the facility.
 

What You’ll Do

• Collect, input, and analyze plant production and operational accounting data on a daily and monthly basis
• Reconcile daily plant inventories and appropriate reserves
• Compile and present internal plant performance reports to plant management
• Receive, match, and code plant invoices; prepare new vendor requests and resolve accounts payable issues as needed
• Assist with physical inventories, including assigning and observing counts, reconciliation, and reporting
• Conduct month-end close, prepare journal entries, and perform account reconciliations
• Analyze total plant expenditures, comparing results to budgets
• Prepare and present monthly financial results to senior leadership in conjunction with the Plant Manager
• Construct and maintain bills of material and routings/recipes for new items
• Develop the annual manufacturing budget and subsequent updates in conjunction with plant leadership
• Ensure compliance with GAAP practices and internal controls, particularly relating to inventory
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Plant Manager, or other members of management

What We’re Looking For

• BS in Accounting required; MBA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience in cost accounting and/or plant accounting
• Proficiency in SAP for manufacturing accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• PC proficiency with SAP, Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Frequent use of various communication tools
• Ability to operate a keyboard for extended periods
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make timely decisions aligned with Plant and Finance objectives
• Strong time management and job prioritization skills
