About the Position

We are seeking a Manufacturing Accountant to support accounting and financial functions across our Arkansas manufacturing operations. Working under the general supervision of the Regional Plant Controller, this position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial and inventory records, supporting plant operations, and providing timely reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, is comfortable analyzing data and resolving variances, and can work independently while partnering effectively with plant leadership and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and complete daily production and consumption transactions and investigate and resolve consumption issues and usage variances.
  • Prepare daily and monthly inventory reports and work with plant management to identify, explain, and resolve inventory variances.
  • Ensure accuracy of plant operating expense reports and monthly accounting accruals, including reviewing open purchase orders and GR/IR reports.
  • Track capital expenditures, including expenses, asset and disposal forms, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end general ledger close activities, including preparing journal entries, management reports, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual manufacturing budget and mid-year forecasts.
  • Support physical inventory activities, including analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Participate in various plant audits and inventory-related activities, including mock recalls.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable functions, including receiving, matching, and coding plant invoices, processing new vendor requests, and resolving AP issues.
  • Maintain and manage receipts and bill of material data within SAP.
  • Cross-train with office personnel and the Regional Plant Controller to provide coverage during absences as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Regional Plant Controller or other members of management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Experience working with a fully integrated ERP system - SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with automated reporting systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
This position is based in Carlisle, Arkansas, with occasional travel to Riviana Foods locations in Brinkley, Hazen, and Little Rock to provide support as needed.
