Senior Project Engineer
This role requires someone who is a self-starter, driven to succeed, likes a hands-on approach and who is willing to roll their sleeves up and get involved immediately. This person must be willing to be a working Project Engineer, focused on plant operations support as necessary for problem solving, trouble-shooting and associated project development. This can include work in all areas, including manufacturing departments, utilities, facilities, grain storage and transfer, waste management (including water) and environmental requirements.
Key Requirements
- Scope of projects and activities will include processing, packaging and or facilities/utilities work (exposure to frozen or microwaveable manufacturing environments and projects is a real plus)
- Provide engineering support and project development for the strategic, expansion and other necessary capital expenditure projects
- Support detailed capital planning, execution and management for the facility
- Project engineering, management and planning including but not limited to:
- Economic and feasibility analysis
- Conceptual and schematic design
- Plant and equipment layout
- Vendor/OEM and or Contractor sourcing, development, and management
- Project cost estimation, budgeting, and cost tracking
- Scope development from concept to detail design
- Project planning development and planning tracking
- Project management, execution, including control, commissioning & startup
- Degree in engineering preferable as Industrial engineer but an Engineering Degree in other discipline will be considered
- 5 + years of experience as a project engineer or project manager
- Manufacturing experience is required
- A solid working knowledge of food production processing, packaging equipment required, utilities is preferable
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish written and verbal skills very valuable plus)
- Must have project management skills, be detailed oriented, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Must have sound planning and organization skills
- Desirable PMP certification
- Knowledge of standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Working AutoCAD knowledge is required
- Ability to travel 20-25% as may be required to support project activities depending on project location
