Job Summary
Maintenance Techs are responsible for conducting routine preventative maintenance and performing basic repairs on machinery, mechanical equipment, and facilities involved in the milling, instantization, and/or packaging of rice products. Advanced Maintenance Techs are responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment. This position demands a strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems, along with the ability to work autonomously. The role plays a key part in maintaining operational efficiency by ensuring equipment remains safe, functional, and optimized for performance.
**STRONG PREFERENCE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH FABRICATION EXPERIENCE**
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up, install, configure, and maintain production equipment, including conveyors, elevators, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, blowers, and fans
- Conduct inspections and perform predictive and preventative maintenance on equipment, assessing maintenance needs to determine the proper type and timing for action
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions; identify complex issues, review relevant information, develop solutions, and implement effective corrective actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering and Operations, to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment reliability and uptime
- Perform welding, fabrication, and related tasks
- Clean, lubricate and adjust parts and equipment
- Perform equipment installations support function
- Input and retrieve maintenance work orders in a timely manner
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Minimum 1+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience, including millwright work, welding, cutting, and fabrication
- Previous experience working with drag conveyors, screw conveyors, elevators, pumps, hot water systems, pneumatic & hydraulic systems and complex machinery is highly desirable
- Use and repair of motor controls, sensors and gearboxes
- Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting
- Basic principles of industrial maintenance
- Installation and repair techniques for pneumatic and hydraulic systems (water, steam, air and natural gas)
- Possesses aptitude, logic and reasoning to determine root cause of operating errors, how to best remedy and repair machines or systems using appropriate tools
- Reads, writes, listens to, comprehends, communicate in English and applies information, knowledge and/or work related documents including blueprints, schematics and equipment manufacturer's instructions
