About the Role

The EH&S Manager supports the Memphis campus by leading environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards. This role is responsible for protecting employees, customers, and the environment while promoting a strong safety culture. The EH&S Manager investigates incidents, identifies root causes, and implements preventative measures to reduce risk and improve overall safety performance.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and Workers’ Compensation requirements
  • Advise and train supervisors and management on safety compliance and preventative actions
  • Plan and deliver employee training programs focused on workplace safety practices
  • Maintain comprehensive safety files, records, and documentation
  • Conduct safety inspections and surveys; prepare written reports with findings and recommendations; and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead and coordinate post-accident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and prepare detailed reports
  • Review and maintain OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation programs and coordinate strategies to reduce injury-related claims
  • Develop and distribute preventative safety information; provide consultations and training
  • Identify and anticipate safety and health hazards by evaluating environmental, operational, and occupational conditions
  • Guide safe work performance by developing and maintaining safety systems, policies, and procedures (e.g., JSA, PSM, SOPs, Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry)
  • Ensure compliance with current and future federal, state, and local safety regulations by interpreting standards and advising management on required actions
  • Promote a safe work environment through coordination with local, state, and regional safety organizations and agencies
  • Maintain industrial health and safety records to demonstrate continuous improvement
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings and chair Safety Committee meetings with employees at all levels
  • Support plant safety initiatives, including monthly Safe Behavior Observation (SBO) programs and team calibrations
  • Support other plant initiatives, including Food Safety Programs, Security Guidelines, SOPs, Forklift Certification, GMPs, HACCP, and PPE training and compliance


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline preferred
  • Manufacturing background with working knowledge of safety regulations
  • Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA, PSM, and EPA regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with ISO or ANSI Environmental Health and Safety management systems
  • Knowledge of government practices and regulatory policies

  • Hearing (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient to work safely
  • Computer and peripheral equipment
  • Standard and customized software applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and spreadsheet software


Working Conditions

  • Daily work in dusty industrial environments
