Quality Manager
Accountable for developing and executing business plans from department goals/objectives to meet key performance indicators (KPI) and to achieve safety, quality, value and cost (S, Q, V, C) results for assigned cost center.
The Quality Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards across all segments of the plant. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product(s).
The Quality Manager will provide leadership to workers who are engaged in quality inspections and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability. Review customer complaints. Coordinate timely and accurate analyses, responses and corrective actions.
Primary Responsibilities:Process: Plans and schedules the staffing, supplies, process and equipment to meet required key performance indicators (KPI’s). Collaborates with plant operating personnel to:
b. Ensure compliance with all internal and external procedures and regulations, such as HACCP, GMPs and applicable FDA and/or USDA regulations
c. Execute capital and facility improvements
People: Builds alignment between Safety, Quality & Productivity principles and employee job performance
1. Plans, identifies and implements leadership training, employee development and performance management2. Identifies and addresses employment and HR issues; maintains a general understanding of the bargaining unit agreement
3. Sources and assigns employees to meet performance requirements
Financial: Manages resources, controls resource costs in line with operating budget
1. Provides input to operating budget2. Operates and adheres to budget standards regarding staffing and overtime costs and materials usage
3. Tracks cost center actual to budget; Explains variances to plan
4. Identifies and implements action plans
Strategic: Identifies and implements improvement opportunities and resolves issues
1. Monitors results against cost center goals2. Analyzes processes, systems, equipment and performance trends across work areas
3. Recommends actions required to make improvements; Review the results of internal Quality System audits with the plant staff and initiate corrective actions

j. Meet requirements of Green belt certification
k. Care and use of required onsite facility personal protection equipment
l. Able to respond to emergency call outs
Education:
High school diploma combined with equivalent related experience
College degree preferred - BS Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field
Experience:
7-10 years Quality Control experience in the food industry; with a minimum of four years' supervisory experience; statistical analysis and three years' of grain experience
