Special Markets Business Analyst

The person filling this role should expect to be responsible for developing and maintaining key business intelligence in support of the Special Markets business units as well as the Supply Chain segment of Riviana Foods.  This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Special Markets.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical/analytical skills and will be a strong communicator able to work in a team environment. Advanced skills with Excel, SAP, and Business Warehouse reporting are important attributes.  The position is for a “self-starter” with solid interpersonal skills, ready to develop business analysis from day one.  The role will have cross-functional opportunities for Supply Chain analysis and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a dashboard of business performance for the Special Markets Selling Business Units (SBU)s
  • Sales Plan, Forecast, open orders, and invoiced sales by month and YTD by SBU with drill downs by sales rep, region, SKU, and account
  • Open AR and past dues / DSO by SBU with same drill downs
  • Forecast accuracy by SBU, rep, account, SKU by month and YTD
  • Track spending vs budget by month and YT
  • Track inventory of critical products and report on actions for aging stock
  • Support monthly Supply Chain reporting and analysis on an as-needed basis
  • Inventory, Logistics performance, Sales vs Plan/Forecast
  • Ensure correct master data set up and correct SBU alignment for Special Markets accounts and SKU’s. Call out and address errors, SBU misalignment, and misplaced deductions
  • Manage (monitor, vet, and assign) customer and new business inquiries
  • Serve as a backup role to support price management / price controls and deductions management as needed

Education

  • BS in a business-related degree or equivalent technical discipline

Experience

  • 10 years’ experience in business analysis with demonstrated mastery of Excel and skilled with SAP and BW
