Role Summary
The RTS Production Supervisor oversees daily operations of the Memphis food manufacturing facility. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement. The supervisor leads a team of production workers, manages resources, coordinates with other departments, and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations, including food safety protocols, quality standards, and production procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise daily production operations to meet schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Monitor and optimize resource use, minimizing waste and improving efficiency.
- Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Lead, train, and motivate production team members to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee development.
- Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Enforce adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and workplace safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for production staff.
- Investigate and report safety incidents or violations.
- Ensure products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality checks and implement corrective actions for non-conformance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to prevent production delays.
- Ensure timely handling of materials to meet production goals.
- Minimize material waste and optimize resource use.
- Maintain accurate production records, including logs, reports, and quality control data.
- Report production performance and operational issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with documentation requirements for audits and inspections.
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
- Analyze production data to uncover inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement among production staff.
What We’re Looking For
- College degree preferred (BS Food Science, Engineering, or related experience).
- Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory role in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA).
- Retort experience in a food environment is a plus.
- Technical background in food processing preferred.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, GMPs, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of quality control and food safety standards (HACCP, SQF).

Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, and safety footwear.
- Primarily works on the production floor of a food manufacturing facility.
- Required to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on production schedules.
- Overtime may be required during peak production periods.
