Warehouse Clerk (2nd Shift)

Under general supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, provide support in all functions as they relate to the operation of the Shipping department in the Memphis Plant on 2nd shift. Moreover, this position requires interacting with multiple departments including, but not limited, to, Corporate Offices, Trucking Carriers, Packaging, QA, Purchasing and Planning.

Key Aspects of the Role 

  • General clerical duties including answering phones, answering emails, and maintaining files
  • Assist in identification of shipping orders as good or deficient; notify production accordingly
  • Assist in scheduling outbound
  • Assist in goods issuing and shipment completion on all loaded orders
  • Management of SAP reports for analysis and department operation, fixing errors, data entry (i.e. VT11)
  • Assist in daily data input of shipping orders (i.e. APO SAP, Auto02, etc.)
  • Cross train and support other clerical roles throughout the facility and within the department
  • Must be assertive, self-motivated, and dependable
  • Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required
  • Scan in daily carrier rotation log
  • Review, release, and waybill loaded railcars and all paperwork daily
  • Complete and review all paperwork accurately (i.e. customs documents) for international loads daily
  • Dispatch Loads to trucking carriers
  • File and archive all BOLs and associated paperwork/documents
  • Prepare and review daily yard check of loaded trailers in Power Yard (the yard management system)
  • Prepare UPS domestic and international shipments
  • Place/Remove product from Quality hold
  • Extended periods researching inventory accuracy on the warehouse floor
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Distribution Supervisor and the Warehouse Manager

Knowledge

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Prior Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years clerical experience in warehouse/shipping preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Numerical/math skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and effectively deal with a wide array of people
  • Strong filing and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist and lift to 50lbs
  • Ability to work varying shifts and some weekends as needed
Equipment Used
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • General office and communications equipment
  • PC proficiency – MS Office – Excel, Outlook, and Word applications
